Issue 36 - Friday 28 June 2024

Dear Families

This Autumn term we are launching our brand-new website.  In preparation for our physical separation on to two sites in September 2025 we have made the website changes now, giving us time to work through any issues during the next academic year.

We are streamlining our content and giving the whole site a more up-to-date, grown-up look.  We are also making sure you have fewer clicks to get to the information you need.

The majority of information will be available on the landing page for Meadow High School but you will also be able to go into bespoke tabs for the Royal Lane and Northwood Road sites.

When you see the website you will find that lots of information and old photos will have disappeared.  We are keeping everything, so we can reinstate it if this is something that people found particularly useful.

This Friday we have a photographer coming in to school to take some new photos for us to use on the site. We will be using our photo permission list to make sure we don't take photos of your child if you didn't give permission.  Additionally, should any child not want to be photographed, we will respect their wishes.

Very best wishes for a hot weekend!

Mrs J Rigby
Headteacher

PLEASE RETURN ALL
SCHOOL LIBRARY BOOKS

As we approach the end of the school year, we kindly ask that you check at home for any school library books your child may have taken home throughout the year.

If you have any school library books at home, please send them back to school with your child so that they can be returned to Miss Gaafar, the school Librarian, before Thursday 18th July 2024.

If books are not returned by this date, then we will assume they are lost, and you may be asked to contribute partial or full payment for us to replace these books. Please note that any extenuating circumstances will be taken into consideration before payment is requested.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Miss Gaafar via email on sgaafar@meadowhighschool.org.

Kind Regards,
Miss S Gaafar
Librarian (Supporting and Delivering Learning)

Sports Week

I would like to say "thank you" to everyone who; supported, participated and watched. The students all did a great job trying their best when participating and showing great sportsmanship when cheering on their teammates.

The week could not have run without the support of all the staff AND students who helped me throughout the week.  A special thanks to the; PE department, Miss Nayar (for the photos), Site team, Food tech department, ALL the students who helped and all families that supported!

Our overall winner is..... [drum roll please]..... GREEN HOUSE!

We look forward to next year!

Kind regards,
Mr Anstee
PE Faculty Lead

Year 10
Visit to Brompton Bicycle Factory

Last week, 10LC visited Brompton bicycle factory in Greenford as part of the employer encounter benchmark (GB6). Students had a great opportunity to meet Brompton staff and tour the factory. All students actively participated in a team-building activity led by Brompton volunteers. During the tour, students were fascinated to see the whole bicycle manufacturing process, the variety of job roles and how each staff is skilled to do their job.

Students were given a demonstration on how to fold the bicycles correctly and were given the opportunity to experience these bicycles by folding and riding them. All students showed a great level of interest during this visit by asking so many relevant questions and sharing their own experiences with the Brompton staff. Many thanks to MHS staff who supported this trip, Brompton management and volunteers, Inspiring the future and EDT to make this visit enjoyable, educational and memorable!
