Issue 29 - Friday 3 May 2024

Dear Families

As you can imagine, it has been a very challenging week for our community. Thank you for all your kind messages. We are grateful for your support and to hear your loving memories of Miss Lennon.

We are deeply saddened by this great loss but are trying, for the pupils’ sake, to keep the school environment as normal as possible. We will continue to support pupils to process their feelings around this news and to answer their questions and concerns. I hope you found the information we sent home regarding supporting your child helpful. Should you want further advice and support you can contact us, or use this excellent organisation https://www.childbereavementuk.org/

We are in touch with Miss Lennon's family regarding their wishes for school representation at the funeral. We will not have a school closure and the school will remain open on the day of the funeral, but we may have some altered lesson arrangements to allow friends / colleagues to attend.

Year 7 Went On A Trip To
Windsor Castle Yesterday

On Thursday this week, Year 7 visited Windsor Castle as part of their 'Castles' study in history. The staff at the castle treated us to a learning workshop entitled 'All About Castles' where we were reminded about our learning of The Battle of Hastings and were taught some new information about castles and battlements.

We visited the State Apartments, the Dolls' House and the Chapel and were lucky enough to see the resting place of our late queen, Queen Elizabeth II.  The weather held out for us and we came back extremely tired after a busy day of walking and learning.
