Weekly Bulletin - Issue 28 - Friday 30 April 2021

Issue 28 - Friday 30 April 2021

Dear Families,

I hope you have been able to enjoy the lovely bright weather we have had this week. The rain on Wednesday night definitely helped our Horticulture Team and the raised beds are beginning to show signs of growth!  Last year the team provided compost, pots and seeds for anyone who was interested in planting. Many of our pupils find this a fun and interesting hobby.  If you have fruit or veg that come in plastic containers eg grapes etc, you can keep these to use for planting. Things like radishes grow very quickly and easily and the seeds are cheap.  If your child has green fingers and grows anything, please share photos with us!

Covid

There have been no confirmed cases of covid in our community since the last bulletin.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO USE HOME TESTING KITS AND REGISTER THE RESULTS ON THE NHS WEBSITE.

Build / Assembly

This week's assembly focused on the progress of the build and we also looked at some of the new furniture we are buying.  I was lucky to have an impromptu visit to the site on Tuesday and was delighted to see that many rooms are ready for plastering.  The outside facia are currently being built and the render and brickwork will commence very soon.  This will make the structure actually look like a building! Please see the powerpoint (also available on the school website) that shows you the progress and where things are located.

May I wish you all a happy and healthy weekend.

Friends of Meadow
Annual General Meeting

The Friends of Meadow AGM will be held via Zoom video conference at 1.40pm on Tuesday 4 May 2021.  If you've never been able to make it to a Friends of Meadow (our Parent Teacher Association) meeting before, or are not sure what it's all about, this could be your chance to find out!

There will be some formalities we need to go through, as it's the Annual General Meeting.  Following that, there will be a chance to have a chat about what we have done and what we plan to get up to, to help our school.  As last year, you'll need to supply your own tea and biscuits, but we hope to meet up in the new building next school year.  We'll just need to be careful not to drop any crumbs on the new carpet.

If you'd like to attend our on-line AGM, please drop me an email, goodbodyjg@yahoo.co.uk , and I'll send you joining details.

Secretary, Friends of Meadow

Advice from the local Neighbourhood Watch Owl

Protect Your Phone

Protect yourself from being a victim of mobile theft and follow steps that will help you if your phone is stolen.

Don’t leave your phone, iPad, tablet or camera unattended, out of your sight or left on a table – thieves can grab a phone from a table in seconds.

Always be aware of your mobile and your whereabouts and act accordingly. And when you’ve finished using it, put it away.

Ensure you retain a record of your phone's IMEI number. This is a 15-digit unique number which can be obtained by keying in *#06#. You need this information if the phone is lost or stolen. And don’t keep a note of it on your phone as it defeats the object.

Use your device’s security features, apps or PIN locking mechanisms to protect your data and prevent the phone being used if stolen.

Track it. Consider installing a tracker app on your smartphone. They’re readily available online. If your mobile’s ever stolen, act promptly.
