Issue 24 - Friday 14 March 2025

Dear Families

In this week's assembly we said farewell to one of our pupils who is moving out of the area. We wish Louie and his family all the very best - don't be strangers!

I took this as an opportunity to learn about our diverse population through how we say goodbye.

Pupils volunteered to come to the front and say goodbye in their home language. We had pupils speaking in English, Thai, Polish, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, Urdu and Hindi.

We also had a quiz to identify 'goodbyes' from a range of countries, and we learned what the literal translation means.

Would you get them right?

Hwyl fawr - 'Big fun'

{item_alt_tag}

Adios - 'You are going to God'

{item_alt_tag}

Auf wiedersehen - 'Until we see again'

{item_alt_tag}

Aloha - 'Love and peace'

I was impressed at how knowledgeable our pupils were and how encouraging and respectful towards their brave peers who volunteered to speak in front of the whole school.

So I will wish you au revoir 'until we meet again' and very best wishes for the weekend.

Kind regards
Mrs J Rigby
Headteacher

Comic Relief / Red Nose Day

Friday 21st March 2025

On Friday 21st March, we will celebrate 40 years of Comic Relief by hosting a non-uniform day with an '80s throwback theme!  If your child would prefer, they may wear red.

The pupils will be learning about the charity and all the work they do across the world in assemblies and PSHCE lessons that week. There will be an '80s-themed disco run at lunchtime for all students to enjoy the iconic music and style of the decade!

We will be accepting voluntary charity donations via your child’s parent pay account.

Many thanks for your continued support.
