Dear Parents and Carers
Our new Enrichment offer has been running for two weeks now and students have settled into their options well. We have adjusted our programme this year with students choosing options linked to themes tied to our values of Motivation, Excellence, Achievement, Dedication, Opportunity and Willingness. Students will choose one option from each area over the course of the year and will gain rewards for completing options across a range of themes. This has been well received so far and staff are excited about delivering it. We will, of course, review how this has gone, but it might be something for you to speak to your child about at home.
I am also excited to share with you a new partnership we have with a charity called Rebel Therapies. They work with schools around issues arising from social media and about how to remain safe online. Over the course of this year, they will work with all students across both campuses. One additional benefit of this partnership is that Rebel Therapies will also provide workshops for parents. I am delighted to say that the first two sessions for parents will be held at Royal Lane Campus on 13th October at 9.15am and 2.15pm. We are hoping that parents will be able to attend around dropping off or collecting their children. Future sessions are planned, and we will hold some of these at Northwood Road Campus. I would strongly encourage parents to take up this offer and if you would like to know more about their work, the link is below.

Two other events I would like to remind you about are Meet The Tutor Evening on 14th October and Coffee with the Headteacher on 15th October. Meet the Tutor is an important time to meet your child's form tutor, to discuss how they have settled in and to talk about progress and finalise PLIMS. Tutors will also talk about the importance of attendance and punctuality at school.
On 15th October I will hold the first of my Headteacher Coffee Mornings. I have scheduled four of these for the year, two at Royal Lane and two at Northwood Road. The one on the 15th will be held at 9.15 at Royal Lane Campus. These sessions provide an opportunity to hear from me about developments and changes we have made to the school and for you to ask me any questions. I hope to see a number of you at both of these events.
I wish you all an enjoyable weekend.
Mr G Cunningham
