Issue 14 - Friday 12 December 2025

Dear Parents and Carers

We are nearing the end of a busy term and there is still so much going on in school.  This week we have had dance performances in school and also trips to the local mosque alongside all the great activities that go on in and out of the classroom each and every day.  We have one final week of the half-term to go and this will include the final of Meadows Got Talent, Christmas lunch, awards assemblies and the judging of the Christmas Door competition as we move towards the end of term.

Alongside the work going on at Royal Lane, the new site at Northwood Road is moving on at pace.  The steel frame is completed, and we have concrete poured on the roof and first floor.  The ground floor drainage works are almost completed, and the concrete will be poured on this area before the site closes on 19th December.  We will be in contact with parents more frequently around this as we move into 2026.

Holly, Jolly Café

Pathway 1- HA

This term, class HA, have been working on their hospitality skills.

They have looked at skills needed front of house and back of house and really worked hard on their customer service skills.

On Wednesday 10th December, they all worked together as an amazing team to run the Holly, Jolly café. They invited some staff and students and served them a variety of festive drinks and snacks.

A big thank-you to all our customers and well done to class HA who did a fantastic job!

Vocational Pathways Christmas Sale

The Vocational Pathways Enterprise team students demonstrated outstanding effort in preparing for the Christmas Sale. They planned the products they wished to sell, created marketing materials and displayed posters around the school, and successfully sold their items last Thursday.

A big thank you to Mrs Pledge who supported the student throughout the project.

Inclusion Christmas Trip

On Wednesday 10th December, the Inclusion Team took a group of young people to the new Hollywood Bowl and to McDonald's in Uxbridge. We had great fun bowling and there were some amazing strikes and spares!

The girls had fun in the photo booth, everyone had a good time in the arcade and we had a lovely lunch. We were very proud and impressed by the good behaviour, manners and kindness shown by everyone.

Have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year!

6VL visited Hollywood Bowl in Uxbridge on Tuesday afternoon. Students spent time socialising with one another and taking part in a game of bowling. It was an enjoyable outing and an opportunity for the class to spend time together outside the classroom.

Missed their school flu vaccination?
There's still time to protect your child this winter

Flu cases are rising locally and can be more serious during this cold weather. The NHS is reminding parents that the free NHS flu vaccine is still available to school-aged children.

Flu is often unpleasant illness for children but it can also have much more serious symptoms such as high fever, coughs, aches, and in some cases complications like pneumonia or ear infections.

Children do not build up natural immunity to flu and the viruses change every year, which is why children need one very year. The nasal spray vaccination is the safe and effective way to ensure they have the protection they need.

Vaccination doesn't just protect your child - it helps keep the whole community safe. By being vaccinated, children are less likely to pass flu on to those who are more likely to become seriously ill from the virus.

There will be another opportunity for your child to have their vaccination at school, so look out for their consent form. If they do miss out, you can book a catch-up at: www.schoolvaccination.uk/catch-up-clinics

Other groups are eligible too, including people over 65 and those with certain health conditions. To find out more you can visit: www.nwlondonicb.nhs.uk/fluCOVID

If you have any questions or concerns, talk to your GP or local pharmacist.
