Weekly Bulletin - Issue 35 - Friday 17 June 2022

Issue 35 - Friday 17 June 2022

Dear Families

We are delighted that we have regained a significant portion of our playing field, as the two temporary double units that were required during building work have now been removed. As part of our re-greening and wilding of the site we would welcome donations of bulbs, cuttings, seed packets and split plants from families. Our horticulture pupils, along with enrichment groups and keen staff, will be creating lots of areas about the site from flower borders to wild flower meadows, from woodland areas to sensory gardens, insect hotels to hedgehog villas! If you are able to make a donation, please send it to the school care of Miss Lennon. For those of you with green fingers, please look out for opportunities to come and support on site in the Autumn Term!

There was no whole school assembly this week as we welcomed our third group of families to their child's annual review.  If you were not able to attend, please contact the school to rearrange a suitable time for the review to take place.

Whilst walking around the school this week, I have been impressed at the work pupils have been sharing with me. If you would like to come in to see your child's books / folders / work, please come along to one of our sessions on Tuesday 21st or Tuesday 28th June. You will receive a letter where you can indicate your attendance so that we can ensure we have gathered together all your child's work from across the school.  Although there will not be an opportunity to discuss your child at these events, there is a parents evening on the 12th July where you can meet and talk with your child's teachers.

Vaccine preventable illnesses

At a Headteachers briefing this week we had a representative of the local public health team. Vaccine preventable illnesses are on the rise and we have been asked to encourage all families to ensure that their children are vaccinated.

Jewellery

We are having a drive for the next two weeks to ensure that pupils are not wearing jewellery outside the policy.   Please ensure you are familiar with this policy, which is part of the Uniform Policy, available to view on the School Website:  Parents / School Uniform or please see below.

Best wishes for a beautiful weekend.

Kind regards,

Mrs J Rigby
Headteacher

School Uniform Policy

Statement Relating to Jewellery in School

NO rings / bracelets / hoop earrings / necklaces

YES to a watch / an item relating to the pupil’s religion (appropriate to school wear)

Water Bottles

Please could parents ensure pupils are provided with a refillable water bottle (labelled with pupil name).    It is really important that pupils drink water during the day, particularly when the weather is warmer.   We no longer have drinking fountains available for pupils to access in school.  However, we have places pupils can refill and refresh a bottle.

Thank you.

Ms J Richards
Assistant Headteacher
