Issue 6 - Friday 13 October 2023

Good Afternoon Everyone.   Just a brief message this week.

This week we have had visitors from a German school that we have close ties with.  They came to visit the school and join in some lessons and activities, and we did some joint visits to London and Windsor with them.  They enjoyed their visit and Mrs Fabisch will be telling you all a little bit more about this next week in the Bulletin.

Mrs Rigby hopes to be back soon and thanks all well-wishers who have sent her get well soon messages.

The school site has been cleared of all the old temporary classes and the build team has started on the ground works for the new building, so we are all very excited.  The build team have left us a few windows, so we can see the work progressing.  I will leave you with a couple of photographs of what is going on behind the 6th form building.

SHOW RACISM THE RED CARD
- WEAR RED DAY 2023-

Dear Parents/Carers

On Friday, 20th October 2023, as a School we are going to take part in an event organised by Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC), called “Wear Red Day”.

SRtRC is the UK’s largest anti-racism educational charity, and you can find out some more information about the organisation at https://www.theredcard.org

At School, pupils and staff are being asked to wear something red in support of being a proud anti-racist, in order to dismantle racism in society . It can be wearing lots of red clothes, or as simple as wearing red socks.

In the run up to Wear Red Day, we will be talking to the pupils about the charity and why it was first introduced and how they can challenge racism.

If you would like to donate £1 to the organisation , please use the following method:

By Text:

Text ‘RED’ to 70470 to give£1, ‘RED5’ to give £5, ‘RED10’to give £10 etc. (texts cost gift value + std msg rate)

Yours sincerely,

M Newman & C Sojka
Anti- Racism coordinators
