Governors' Profiles

Richard Burton
Co-Opted Governor

Chair of Governors

I became a Governor at Meadow shortly after my son started to attend the school and that is now over 20 years ago.  I have been Chair of the Governing body for much of that time and have been a member of various committees and working groups too. Over the years the school has changed, not only the needs of our pupils, but the buildings too and with completion of the new school building we now have a school to be proud of and fit for the future. I am proud of the progress the school has made and, more importantly, the achievement of our pupils. I am very clear this has been achieved through the hard work and dedication of the whole staff team. I retired from a career in financial services in 2020, so it may not be a surprise that my interests as a Governor are in finance, resources. premises and now compliance – our policies, GDPR etc.  In my spare time I enjoy watching football and my sons and I are season ticket holders at Fulham.

Sameer Das

Parent Governor

I joined as Parent Governor in 2025 shortly after my son joined Meadow after attending Hedgewood School. My wife was a parent governor at Hedgewood, and it gave a view of how parent governors play an important role in helping schools achieve their goals. So, when a parent governor position opened up at Meadow, I was very interested in getting involved and helping the school using my skills.

I have over two decades of professional experience in human resources managing compensation and benefits across technology, consulting and banking sectors.

Mr Mujahid Fadl

Parent Governor

Mr. Fadl, who joined as a Parent Governor in 2025, has a strong interest in the school's success. He is an administrator and experienced project manager with a background in managing information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure projects for government agencies internationally. Having moved from print media, he has worked globally while monitoring political and social developments.

Mr. Fadl is committed to ensuring children reach their full potential with appropriate support. He believes his governance role allows him to help the school achieve its goals and ambitions for its pupils. Additionally, Mr. Fadl serves as the Chair of Governors at Brookside primary school in Hayes.

Phil Haigh

Co-Opted Governor

I am a retired businessman and experienced Governor.   I started as a Parent Governor at Grangewood Special School where I stayed for over 30 years, serving as Chair for 20 years.  I was instrumental in setting up and establishing the Eden Multi-Academy Trust and the successful free school bid for Pentland Field School.

Previously the LA Governor at Meadow, I am now Co-opted. I am also the Vice Chair of Governors at Cherry Lane Primary School, having previously been the Chair.

I am a Primary School Representative on the London Borough of Hillingdon Schools’ Forum.

I continue as Chair of the Schools' Forum High Needs Funding Group, and a member of the Early Years Funding Group.

I also serve as the Governor Representative on the Hillingdon Schools’ Strategic Partnership Board (SSPB).

I am Deputy Chair of the London Borough of Hillingdon Governors’ Executive Committee and also Chair a number of Admissions Appeals Panels for Primary & Secondary Schools in the south of England.

Kiran Kalia

Associate Governor

I have been a governor at Meadow High School since February 2016.  Both my daughters have been working as teachers at the school since 2010 and I became interested in the school and took a keen interest in the school ‘out of hours activities’ that they participated in.

I had previously worked in various schools in a voluntary capacity while my four children were growing up and was exposed to training as a ‘named person to help with special needs statements for parents and carers’.  I also worked in a self-employed capacity jointly with my husband for many years prior to 2000 and was strongly involved in making strategic decisions for the business.

Since August 2000 I have worked in the civil service in various roles within the Home Office. One of these roles was an Equality and Diversity Advisor and the lessons and skills learnt are very transferable and relevant to the governor role.

I have a special responsibility in supporting EAL within the school

Ross Macdonald

Local Authority Governor

My name is Ross Macdonald, and I am delighted to be invited onto the Governing Body here at Meadow. I hope to support the school through my extensive experience in special education. I have 46 years in teaching and Senior Leadership roles, including Executive Headteacher, Headteacher (some will be aware I was headteacher at Meadow from 2004 to 2018) and Deputy Headteacher roles (all in Special Educational needs settings). I have been a serving Ofsted Inspector and have undertaken a significant amount of school advisory roles. I hold a Masters Degree in Education (children with Autism).

The current leadership team have made it explicitly clear that the children will be at the forefront of all they do and if I can support this aim I will be happy to do so. Exceptional schools never stop trying to improve and the school motto of “Achieving Together” is pivotal to this success. I look forward to the future and further great outcomes.

Juliette O'Loughlin

Parent Governor

My son started his Meadow journey in 2023, and I have been nothing but impressed by the inclusive nature of the school. The passion of staff to narrow the gap between our pupils and their peers is admirable. They ensure everyone has equal access to opportunities and support our pupils to achieve their very best. When a Parent Governor position became available, this made me want to get involved and use my skill set to support the school in achieving its strategic objectives.

My professional background is a 25-year career in marketing and communications across the healthcare, local government and education sectors. This includes a position at the Eden Academy Trust, a multi-academy trust of 10 specialist education schools across Hillingdon, Harrow and Cumbria.

Until the end of the 2023-24, I was the Chair of Governors at Coteford Infant School in Ruislip. A Governor there for 7 years, I was also the Link Governor for SEN, LAC/PLAC and chaired the Personnel and Quality of Education Committees.

I hold a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) level 3 qualification and am Safer Recruitment trained. This supports my ethos that the number one priority for any educational establishment is safeguarding. I have taken on the role of Link Governor for Inclusion at Meadow High School, and this involves supporting the amazing work of the Inclusion team with our most vulnerable pupils and those who need a little extra support

Graeme Vickery

Graeme is Deputy Chair and has been a school governor since 2010.  He chairs the Achievement Committee, is the nominated governor with special interest in pupil progress and is deputy governor for safeguarding and child protection. His son is a former pupil.
