Dear Parent/Carer,
As we approach the end of the school year, we kindly ask that you check at home for any school library books your child may have taken home throughout the year.
If you have any school library books at home, please send them back to school with your child so that they can be returned to Miss Gaafar, the school Librarian, by Thursday 19th December 2024.
If books are not returned by this date then we will assume they are lost, and you may be asked to contribute partial or full payment for us to replace these books. Please note that any extenuating circumstances will be taken into consideration before payment is requested.

Dear Parents/Carers,
Christmas Lunch Arrangements
This year we are delighted to announce the dates of our traditional Christmas lunches. The Christmas lunch will include dinner, dessert, a cracker, mince pies and satsumas. Halal turkey and vegetarian (cheese and red pepper whirls) options will be available. The cost is £2.50.
Please note, there is no other meal option available on these days.
The Christmas lunches will take place on:
Wednesday 18th December – Upper School - Years 10, 11 and 6th Form - including PW1
Lower School (Years 7, 8 and 9 - including PW1) to bring in packed lunch
FSM sandwiches will be provided – there will be a choice on the day of cheese or tuna.
Thursday 19th December – Lower School - Years 7, 8 and 9 - including PW1
Upper School (Years 10, 11 and 6th Form - including PW1) to bring in packed lunch
FSM sandwiches will be provided - there will be a choice on the day of cheese or tuna.
We are asking pupils this year to make their choice on the day during morning registration.
As usual, payment is via your child’s ParentPay account. If you have not yet activated your child’s account, please contact the school office.
On the day that your child is not having Christmas lunch the school will not be providing alternative dinner arrangements, unless your child is entitled to a free school meal, so please provide your child with a healthy packed lunch.

Letter to 6VL - Trip to Winter Wonderland

Dear Parents/Carers,
6VL Trip to Winter Wonderland
As a class, 6VL are going to Winter Wonderland on Thursday 12th December 2024. This trip is an educational opportunity for the class to practise using public transport and social interaction.
We will be leaving at 9,30am and travelling by bus and tube and return to school in time for transport home. We have applied for free travel from London transport, however, if this is not approved, please could students bring their bus passes if they have them.
If students would like to go on a ride, this will be agreed beforehand and students will need to pay for it. The cost of a ride ranges from £7- £12.
Students can bring either a healthy packed lunch or a small amount of money to choose something from one of the stalls in Winter Wonderland. If your child is entitled to a free school lunch, a lunch can be provided, please indicate below, along with sandwich choice, and we will make sure they have a lunch to bring along from school.

Dear Parents/Carers,
I am pleased to be writing to you to offer _______________________ a place on the trip to Centre Parcs, Woburn Forest in Bedford from Monday 12th to Friday 16th May 2025.
In order to confirm your child’s place on the trip, we require a £10 deposit to be paid before Friday 17th January. Please pay this via your ParentPay account.
The total cost of the trip is confirmed at £350 per student. IF your child is a recipient of Pupil Premium we are able to subsidise this trip for a cost of £100. This payment can be paid either in full or in installments. We will send further details in the new year once all deposits have been received.
The above cost includes all transportation, accommodation, food, staffing and access to daily activities.

Letter to Jack Petchey Award Winners - Panto trip

Christmas Panto at the Beck Theatre
As a reward for your child being our Schools Jack Petchey winners this year, we would like to recognise their hard work and achievement. We would like all 2024 winners to see Aladdin pantomime on Thursday 19th December 2024. The show will start at 10.30am at the Beck Theatre.
We will leave school at 09.30am and will travel by minibus., There is no cost to the trip as the tickets have been purchased through the Jack Petchy foundation.

Letter to Whole School - Meadows Got Talent Grand Finale
6 December 2024
Dear Families,
Our 6th Form Committee has been working hard to organise an event that is both exciting and meaningful, all while raising funds for Young Minds. After much discussion, the students chose Meadow’s Got Talent as their focus.
Over the past two weeks, we’ve had over 30 auditions, and it’s been wonderful to see the incredible talent we have here at Meadow. The 6th Form Committee judges are now selecting the top 10 finalists who will perform in the Grand Finale on Friday, 13th December 2024 during the afternoon.
Students and staff will have the opportunity to purchase a limited number of tickets for just £1 each to watch the Grand Finale live in our main hall. Alternatively, they can make a donation to view the event live-streamed in their classrooms.
If your child would like to attend this amazing event, please send £1 with them to purchase a ticket for the Grand Finale in the main hall, or a small donation if they would prefer to watch the live-streamed option in their classroom.
We are looking forward to an afternoon of amazing performances while supporting a great cause.

We are pleased to announce our annual Big Breakfast will be held on Friday 20th December 2024. This will consist of an Egg, Bacon, Sausage, Baked Beans and Toast (vegetarian option available) at the cost of £2.50.
The Big Breakfast will commence from 9.00am onwards and will replace the normal breakfast club arrangements.

- Understanding how the Zones of Regulation can help with emotional regulation
We know that being able to manage our feelings is key to success in life, both personally and in the world of work. This is therefore an important part of our work in school, preparing our students for life beyond Meadow. The Zones of Regulation is a programme geared towards helping students gain skills in consciously regulating their actions, which in turn leads to increased control and problem solving abilities. This session is focused on introducing both SCERTS and the Zones. Further sessions will be planned in response to discussion points raised.

Dear Parent/Carer,
We are very excited to announce that from Tuesday 3rd December till Friday 6th December we will be running a Scholastic Book Fair in our Library, just in time for Christmas!
The Scholastic Book Fair is a pop-up celebration of reading that puts the very best books directly into your child’s hands, all while raising rewards to spend on free books and essential resources for our school! For every sale made, Meadow High School will receive 50% in FREE rewards that we can use for even more resources for our students!
We will be hosting two parent coffee afternoons on:
One session on Tuesday 3rd December:
- 3.15pm till 4.15pm
Two sessions on Thursday 5th December:
- 1.40pm till 2.40pm
- 3.15pm till 4.15pm
These will give you the opportunity to visit the Fair with your child and choose some of the fantastic books that will be on offer! You can pay online at our parent coffee afternoons via card using our school’s unique QR code that will be displayed in the Library for the duration of the fair.
If you are not able to attend one of our parent coffee afternoons, you also have the option of purchasing a gift voucher for your child that they can use to cover the cost of the books they choose from the Fair. You can find the range of gift vouchers via the Scholastic website here: https://bookfairs.scholastic.co.uk/gift-vouchers. Please note that if you purchase a gift voucher this must be printed and your child must bring it into school with them during the fair, otherwise they will not be able to buy any books. Please also note that any gift vouchers purchased will expire on Saturday 7th December, one day after the fair finishes.

This letter is in reference to the cost of the Devon trip, which your child is down to attend.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to secure as much funding as I wanted to keep the price the same as last year which was £400.
The price of the trip this year in the initial letter was between £400 to £450. I have had to put the price per person up this year and will now cost £425.
Please note this will be added onto parent pay as a separate payment.

We know how important reading skills are for life and learning and therefore school and home working as a team to build a life-long love of reading is always the goal. Letter to Year 8 - Cinema Trip
14th November 2024
Dear Parents/Carers,
To support your child with their learning, we have arranged an educational visit to Vue Cinema in Staines, on 26th November 2024, as part of their studies in English. We will be watch ‘The Wild Robot’, this ties in with their learning about the Iron Man this term.
We will be leaving school just after 9am and returning to school in time for lunch. We will be travelling by minibus, which will be driven by MIDAS (qualified) trained drivers, first aiders will also accompany us.
To cover the cost of the trip, can we please ask for a voluntary contribution of £3. Should we not receive sufficient funds to run this trip, the trip may not be able to go ahead and donations will be refunded. Please pay via Parent Pay.
Students are required to wear full school uniform. We will not be buying snacks at the cinema, if you wish to you can send your son/daughter with snacks from home.
We hope that your child will be able to take part in this trip, as it is designed to support the learning that takes places in the lesson. Please complete the attached slip and return it by 21st November. If you have any enquiries please feel free to contact the school.

Letter to selected pupils - Targeted Anti-Racism Groups for Students.

Dear Parents/Carers,
As part of our ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable school environment, we are excited to introduce a new initiative aimed at combating racism and promoting understanding: Targeted Anti-Racism Groups for Students.
These groups will provide a space for students to engage in important conversations around race, identity, and anti-racism, with a focus on raising awareness and building empathy. The groups will be open to students of all backgrounds and are designed to empower them to become active allies in the fight against discrimination, while also offering support to those who may have experienced racism themselves.
The goal of these sessions is to educate and equip students with the knowledge and tools they need to challenge prejudices, engage in constructive dialogue, and create a more inclusive school community. Discussions will include topics such as understanding privilege, the impact of micro aggressions, and how to take positive action both within and outside the school.
Each group will be facilitated by trained staff members who are experienced in leading sensitive discussions and providing a safe, supportive environment for all students. The sessions will be on Friday 6th December, and will include a mix of group discussions, activities, and reflective exercises.
We believe that by providing students with the tools to understand and address racism, we can create a more empathetic, respectful, and supportive school culture.

Letter to Whole School - After School Football Club / Brentford FC

Dear Parents / Carers,
After School Club; Football w Brentford FC
I am happy to announce that Brentford FC Community Sports Trust are offering an After School Club for our pupils. These sessions will take place on Wednesday 27th November for at least a 10 week period.
Each session will be £6.50 per child. Payments need to be made via Parent Pay/ Brentford FC. A 10% discount is offered if all 10 sessions are booked at the same time.
Due to limited playing space, Football Club will be taking place outside on the MUGA and numbers will be limited to a maximum of 12-15 pupils.
Please note, students will be required to bring their own PE kit to wear. If for any reason they cannot attend the club that week, please send a message to either myself or the school reception.
If you would like your child to attend the football club, please fill out the reply slip and send it back to me. I will then send home a letter informing you if your child has a place or not. It is first come first serve basis so please do not assume you have a place until you receive a confirmation letter.
Please be aware, in order for this club to run MHS staff are supporting on a voluntary basis, so there is no extra staffing. If it becomes apparent that a pupil requires additional support they will not be allowed to continue to attend.
The first session will be taking place on Wednesday 27th November 2024.

KS4 Cinema Trip
Dear Parents/Carers,
KS4 are going to Ealing Picture House cinema on Thursday 21st November 2024. This is part of the Into Film Festival and supports our students personal development and provides an opportunity to develop skills through off site experiences.
We will be watching Despicable Me 4 (rated U).
There is no cost for this trip and pupils will be provided with snacks for the film.
We will be leaving at 9.05am and returning at around 12.30pm via coach.

11GM are going to Ealing picture house cinema on Thursday 14th November 2024. This will support pupils’ culture capital alongside their personal development.

There is no cost for this trip and pupils will be provided with snacks for the film. However, we would like to stop off at the shops on the way back to buy something nice for lunch, this is optional and no more than £5 would be required.

FREE OPPORTUNITIES; From Brentford FC Community Sports Trust
In October half-term, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust is continuing delivery of its AccessAbility project for young people aged 14-25yrs with a disability or who are Deaf/Hard or Hearing.
The half-term session will be held at Hounslow Urban Farm, Faggs Rd, Feltham, TW14 0LZ and will take place on Friday 1st November (10am – 2pm).
The meeting time will at 10am at the farm and the time to collect your child/young adult/student will be at 2pm at the farm.
The trip will consist of interactive activities at the farm, spending time with the animals, including Goats, Micropigs, Shetland Ponies, Alpacas and many others.
If your child requires 1-to-1 support, we would request that a parent/carer stays with them throughout the trip.
Please give us the overall number of spaces that you would like to book, i.e., Robert Ross + 1.
This trip is completely free of charge to all participants. Spaces are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

A link has been created with Wealdstone FC, a semi professional football club, who are based in Ruislip. They are a family friendly football club who play their football in the National League of English football.

Residential Trip to Center Parcs 2025
Dear Parent/Carer,
I am writing to inform you we are pleased to be offering a residential trip opportunity to Center Parcs Woburn Forest, Bedfordshire.
We have booked for Monday 12th May - Friday 16th May 2025. This trip is open to all students in year 10-14 inclusive in the 2024-2025 academic year.
The offer of places will be completed in the following priority order:
- To ensure single sex accommodation groupings.
- Key Stage 5 students who have not previously been.
- Key Stage 4 students who have not previously been.
- Students who can only access this trip, regardless of age due to a physical or medical need.
- Key Stage 5 students who have previously attended.
- Key Stage 4 students who have previously attended.
The trip will give pupils the opportunity to take part in life skills, cooking, team building and outdoor activities, such as swimming, walking, cycling and accessing an indoor climbing wall. There are comprehensive facilities available on site including a medical centre, shops, restaurants and cafes. This is a great opportunity for the young people to improve their confidence and independence and create some great memories.
The cost of the trip is estimated and likely to be in the region of £350 per student. This cost includes all transportation, accommodation, food, staffing and access to daily activities. We are able to subsidise this trip for those eligible for pupil premium (those who get free school meals in years 10 and 11) at a cost of £100. If you are not sure of your young person's status, please contact the class team or school office who will be happy to confirm.
Once expressions of interest have been received, we will contact those interested with an offer of a place or an indication of their position on the waiting list if applicable. At this point, a non-refundable deposit is required. Payment plans can be arranged to help spread the cost over the period leading up to the trip.

Most parents have some anxieties, but we have worked previously to overcome personal care, food difficulties and students with very specific medical needs to ensure this trip can be inclusive to all. Provider/Parent Coffee Morning
On Thursday 24th October 2024 there will be a provider coffee morning in the main hall at Meadow High School.
This is an opportunity for parents/carers of students in years 11, 12, 13 and 14 to meet the local providers and help to make decisions concerning ‘moving on’.
The event will start in the main hall at 09.30am until 12.30pm.
Our dedicated SEN caseworker from the Local Authority will be attending to answer any questions you may have about funding.
Sue Bolger from DASH will also be attending to answer and assist in completing any forms (benefits etc.). As we only have a few hours, it may be necessary for you to leave your details with Sue so that she can call you back to make an appointment.
We will try to assist in any way that we can to ensure that your young person’s transition is completed smoothly.

On Friday 18th October 2024, as a School we are going to take part in an event organised by Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC), called “Wear Red Day”.
SRtRC is the UK’s largest anti-racism educational charity, and you can find out some more information about the organisation at https://www.theredcard.org
At School, pupils and staff are being asked to wear something red in support of being a proud anti-racist, in order to dismantle racism in society . It can be wearing lots of red clothes, or as simple as wearing red socks.
In the run up to Wear Red Day, we will be talking to the pupils about the charity and why it was first introduced and how they can challenge racism.

Dear Parents/Carers,
As part of PE lessons, pupils in Class SM will be having swimming lessons starting on 26th September 2024 until 19th December 2024. Pupils will travel by minibus to Windsor Leisure Centre and be taught by qualified swim instructors. Members of the staff from the class team will also be in the water to support.
Swimming lessons will take place every Thursday. Pupils will require a suitable swimming costume/shorts, a towel and any other personal preferences when swimming such as googles. I also suggest sending in an extra snack and drink as swimming can make you hungry.

As part of the Duke of the Edinburgh Award, we have a group of pupils who have the opportunity to attend swimming sessions at Chalfont Leisure Centre. This will occur each Friday starting from 20th September 2024. Pupils will travel via school minibus. Lessons will be taught by a qualified swim teacher from the centre. Welcome to the start of the 2024-25 school year! I hope that you and your families have had a restful summer break. I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself as the new Attendance Officer at Meadow High School, I look forward to meeting with many of you over the next academic year and am thrilled to be working at this wonderful school.
I wanted to make you aware of some important attendance changes that have been imposed by the local authority. A new National Framework for Penalty Notices for school absence, including unauthorised holiday absence, is being introduced following changes to the law. These new Government regulations will come into effect from August 2024, and we wanted to bring this to your attention, as it will affect when penalty notices are issued in Hillingdon. I have attached the changes and a FAQ sheet for your reference.
You play a vital role in your child’s success at school. The first step to achievement is establishing excellent school attendance habits. As the Attendance Officer, I will promote daily attendance through incentives, awards, parent/carer education etc. I will be sharing attendance information with our school community throughout the year.
It is important that your child is present at school every day and on time. Here are some suggestions to establish positive attendance habits:
- Create morning and evening routines
- Where possible, schedule appointments during non-school hours
- Post school calendars and schedules in a visible place
- Help your child develop a positive attitude toward school by encouraging him/her to participate in school activities
- Communicate with myself and your child’s teachers on a regular basis
Regular attendance helps pupils to feel part of the school community and enables them to develop good relationships with their peers and other members of the school community. This can have a positive impact on their wellbeing and help them to feel more settled in school.
I appreciate your support in ensuring your child comes to school consistently. I am here to work with you in achieving this goal and understand that each family’s situation is unique.

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO THE LAW REGARDING PENALTY NOTICES FOR
UNAUTHORISED ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL
A new National Framework for Penalty Notices for school absence, including unauthorised holiday absence, is being introduced following changes to the law. These new Government regulations will come into effect from 19 August 2024, and we wanted to bring this to your attention now, as it will affect when penalty notices are issued in Hillingdon.
What are the changes?
- There will be a new national threshold of 10 unauthorised sessions for any reason (equivalent to 5 school days) within a rolling 10 school week period for when a penalty notice must be considered.
- The new rules mean you will no longer be able to take your child out of school for one week’s holiday without a penalty notice being issued.
- There will be an increase in the penalty fine from £60 to £80 if paid in 21 days. If the fine is not paid by the first 21 days, it will rise to £160 if paid within 28 days of being issued.
- If a second penalty fine is issued to the same parent for the same child within a 3-year rolling period, the fine will automatically rise to £160 with no option to pay the lower rate of £80.
- If a parent then commits a third offence in a 3-year rolling period, the local authority will need to consider other enforcement options available to them.

FAQs
If I have been issued with a penalty notice before 19h August 2024, will this be counted if I am issued with another penalty notice from September onwards?
No, the new limits come into effect from 19 August 2024.
If I have already booked a holiday for next year, could I receive a penalty fine at the new higher rate?
Yes, if the absence has not been authorised by the Head Teacher of your child’s school. Remember, only a Head Teacher can agree whether an absence can be authorised in exceptional circumstances.
Who can be issued with a penalty notice?
- Each parent can receive a fine for each child who has had unauthorised absence from school.
- In education law, anyone who lives with a child and who has day-to-day care of the child is also considered to be a parent whether they are the biological parent or not. For example, this will include stepparents and partners.
Do the new rules only apply to holidays during term time?
No, it applies to all unauthorised absence from school including holidays. Unauthorised absence includes other absence that has not been agreed such as truancy, arriving late after the register has closed and failing to provide reasons for absence.
How do I request for my child to have leave granted during term time?
You must submit an Absence Request form at least 20 days before the proposed absence. It will be for your child’s Head Teacher to make a decision as to whether there are exceptional circumstances that will allow them to grant the time off. Do not assume that the absence will be granted until you have received confirmation from the school.
Do the 10 sessions of unauthorised absence have to be taken all at the same time before a penalty fine is issued?
No, a penalty fine can be issued for any combination of absences over a 10-week rolling period. They can be consecutive or non-consecutive and can span over two terms.
What happens if I am issued with a penalty fine and I don’t pay it?
Unauthorised absence from school is an offence under s444 of the Education Act 1996. A penalty fine is an opportunity for you to settle out of court. If you don’t take this opportunity, you can be prosecuted for the offence of failing to ensure your child’s regular attendance.
What should I do if I am worried about my child’s attendance?
In the first instance you should contact your child’s school and ask for advice on how they can support you to improve the situation.
Letter from end July - School Meal price rises
24th July 2024
Dear Parent/Carer,
I am writing to advise you that there will be an increase in the price of school meals starting from the start of the Autumn Term 2024.
The school has not made any increase to the price of a school meal for several years. However, with the cost of food purchases being so high now, the school is unable to sustain this anymore.
The cost of a meal will increase to £2.50p in September 2024. There will then be a further increase to £2.65p in January 2025.

Re: Reading in Pathway 1
Reading is a skill we continue to develop throughout our lives, but starting this process as early as possible has significant benefits for our continued success as readers. This is why, as parents and carers, you play a vital role in supporting your child in becoming a fluent reader who is confidently able to apply their reading skills across all areas of their lives.
The teaching of reading and reading comprehension within the classroom is only part of a child's learning, and the value that is given to reading at home is equally important. Research suggests that children who read regularly outside of school perform significantly better in school assessments and so your support at home is essential in ensuring that your child makes the progress they are capable of. You can help your child to achieve their full potential by listening to them read daily (for about 15 minutes), reading regular bedtime stories and by encouraging them to enjoy reading and sharing books together. Reading widely through all of these approaches will help develop your child’s vocabulary, which in turn will make them more confident when reading more challenging books.
Giving your child a choice over what they read is an important factor in boosting their enthusiasm for reading and children are more likely to be interested in books they have selected for themselves. Your local library is an incredibly useful resource in providing regular reading material for your child and best of all – it’s free!
In addition, they will come home with appropriately phased books, from our reading program ‘Little Wandle’ that they should be able to read with 80% fluency independently and their own choice of library book, to read together. To help us track how much reading your child is doing at home, it is important that you sign their reading record every time you have listened to them read, along with a brief comment. Your support with reading at home is essential and only by working together can we ensure your child achieves their potential as a reader. If you require any further guidance regarding reading, please ask your child’s class teacher. Thank you for your continued support and happy reading!
Pupils who are reading at both home and school are working towards rewards, including house points, book prizes, in school experiences and some exceptional pupils who have achieved significantly may be awarded trips to exciting literacy based locations such as the Roald Dahl Museum, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory themed chocolate making classes or to Harry Potter World. Further details will be sent at the end of the Autumn Term to pupils who are eligible to have achieved an award.

Dear Student/Parents/Carers,
Congratulations and welcome to Meadow High School Sixth form. I hope you are looking forward to the challenges and opportunities you will have while in Key Stage 5. Please find enclosed a contract for you to sign which indicates our expectations of a student in the Sixth form.
May I also take this opportunity to remind you of the conduct and dress code expected of 6th form students. Whilst you are not required to wear a school uniform, we would ask you to remember that you are representing the school. The dress of students should reflect that and be modest and tidy and include the following:
- Any colour shoes, boots or trainers
- Trousers including black jeans
- Shirt/Blouse with collar
- Plain t-shirt or with an appropriate logo
- Active wear or matching tracksuit, including black leggings
- Jumper, cardigan or blazer
- Skirts and Dresses (not short or low cut)
- Jewelry should be kept to a minimum
The following items are not acceptable in the Sixth Form:-
- Denim Jeans (other than black)
- Nails may be polished but must be no longer than 5mm
- Hats, caps and hoods must be removed when in the school buildings - no hoodies are permitted
- High heels are not permitted
If you fail to dress in the appropriate way we will try to provide the appropriate clothing or you may be asked to go home and change to clothes that we expect from students in the Sixth Form. If there is a problem with this please let your Form Tutor know.
On occasions, all members of the 6th Form will also be expected to raise their standard of dress to an “interview” level, such as wearing a tie, blouse, dress, skirt or other smart clothes.
Conduct:
In addition, all students are expected to be adequately equipped with stationery and other necessary resources at all times, and demonstrate maturity and respect for others. We have an extremely diverse community and are proud of our tolerance and acceptance towards others' differences and similarities.
If staff can be of any further assistance to you or your parents/carers as you settle into the Sixth Form, please do not hesitate to speak to one of us, or to contact us by telephone or letter to make an appointment. Your child’s form tutor should always be the first point of contact.
Mobile Phones
If students prove trustworthy and make sensible decisions, they may be able to use their phone at break and lunchtime to listen to music only. Social media, including facetime and whatsapp are strictly forbidden. With teachers' agreement, some students are able to use their phones for regulation purposes but these must remain in their pockets, not on the desk. Failure to comply will result in your phone being confiscated. Please note that year 12s will not be given access to their phones for at least the first half term and this decision will be agreed with the form tutor.
Lunch time privilege
In 6th Form, students are given the option of going out to the shops at lunchtime for 25 minutes. If they are not having school lunch they may have longer but they must be back in school for registration at 1.30. Please note that students will need to cross Royal Lane if they go to the shops. This privilege obviously depends on their behaviour and attitude within school and outside. If there is a problem, in school or outside, it may be necessary to withdraw this privilege. Please note that year 12s won’t be going out for at least the first half term.
Lockers
We have new lockers available for your son / daughter’s use while they are in the 6th Form. They will need to bring into school a deposit of £5.00, which will be repaid when they leave school, on the return of the key. Should the key be lost, we will use the deposit to have a new one cut.
Local visits
From time to time your child will be given the opportunity to participate in local excursions for routine sporting fixtures, environmental studies, library, bowling, restaurant and shop visits etc. Students will be expected to take part in planning of the trip e.g. planning routes, making bookings etc to improve their independence skills. This is risk assessed and students will be accompanied by staff members. As part of the Vocational Pathways and Work Experience Opportunities, students may be required to attend some activities off site, which will be risk assessed and supervised by staff members.

Please note that all school leavers will finish school on Friday 27th June 2025 following a leavers assembly.
