    • Halloween Disco / Dress Up Day - Thursday 23 October

      Published 22/10/25

      Dear Parents / Carers

Due to many pupil requests, we are offering an optional dress up day this year to celebrate Halloween on Thursday 23 October!  Students can come into school wearing a costume to enjoy the festive spirit of the season.  As per our school uniform, no hoodies will be allowed.

Additionally, we will be hosting a Halloween disco for students to enjoy at lunchtime.

To ensure that this day is fun, inclusive and appropriate for everyone, we kindly ask that all costumes follow these guidelines:

      • School appropriate - suitable for a learning environment. Students should be able to move easily and participate in normal school activities.
      • Non violent - no imitation weapons, excessive blood or gore.  Masks should be able to be removed in class.
      • Inclusive and respectful - no costumes that stereotype or mock any culture, religioun or group of people.
      • Modest in design - costumes should not be overly  revealing.  We ask that students avoid attire that is too short, low-cut, or otherwise inappropriate for a school setting.

Please note:  Any student wearing a costume that does not meet these guidelines may be asked to change into school uniform for the remainder of the day.

Thank you for helping us keep Halloween fun, safe and respectful for all students.  We can't wait to see everyone's costumes !

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child's Form Tutor in the first instance.

    • The Theatre - Have You Given It A Go?

      Published 18/09/25

The Theatre - Have You Given It A Go?

      Oh!  The theatre darling!

One of those places which seemed worthy, but which I never visited.  Until I went along to one of Pastiches' shows a few years back, and then I kicked myself for missing out all this time!

Pastiche (search for "Pastiche Musical Theatre" on Facebook) put on the most amazing fun, joyous, sad and surprising musicals at the Compass Theatre in Ickenham, next to the tube station.

They rehearse at Meadow and the money raised from their shows goes to a charity - this time it's coming to us at Friends or Meadow.

The current production is "Musical Mayhem".  It will be musical.  There will be mayhem.  For more than that, see Facebook.

So many good reasons to break your theatre drought if you've always wanted to see a show, or to go along if you're a regular enjoyer of the arts.

The show's suitable for all the family, the occasional "adult theme" may be thrown in but nothing too risqué. It would suit most of our pupils, but it can be loud, there will be lighting effects and some dry ice, so be aware if your child has particular sensory sensitivities.  Perfect behaviour is not required from the audience, that suits us too!

If you want to join a group going from Meadow on the Thursday drop me a message.  If you want to avoid us then I recommend the Friday or Saturday.  Emoji

    • Hillingdon Parent Carer Forum - Information and Engagement Event - Saturday 20th September

      Published 18/09/25

      Hilllingdon Parent Carers Forum

Hillingdon Parent Carers Forum is a voluntary group, funded by the Department for Education, that works alongside the Local Authority, NHS, and other groups to help shape services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in Hillingdon. Each local authority has its own parent carer forum, and we are committed to ensuring the voices of parents and carers are heard and considered in decision-making.

Nicola Barton, Chair of Hillingdon Parent Carers Forum (HPCF), would like to take the opportunity to introduce the forum and extend an invitation to parents at Meadow High School.

The forum regularly gathers feedback from parents and carers on various issues and provides a valuable service by signposting families to appropriate resources and support. The best way they achieve this is by engaging with as many parent carers as possible, so they can understand the challenges families face, celebrate successes, and learn from what works well in the community.

Hillingdon PCF hosts an annual, free event for SEND families in the area. This year’s event is taking place this coming Saturday, and they would love for as many families as possible to attend.
