Booster Cushion Theatre Visit to Meadow High School  to Perform 'A Christmas Carol' by Charles Dickens

Our Year 7s and Class JR have been having fun learning about the original Christmas grouch, Ebenezer Scrooge.  To help them with their studies, Philip from Booster Cushion Theatre took them on a spook-tacular Christmas Eve journey as the clock struck and the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future appeared........................

It turned out that not only Britain, but specifically Meadow High School, really has Got Talent, as our students joined Philip on stage and helped tell the tale A huge well done to them all for being such a great audience and joining in the fun – Philip definitely wanted to come and visit again soon, and I know our students felt exactly the same!

The critics have spoken, and the reviews are good!  Here is some of what they said:

‘It was awesome and I liked the noise, the doorbell.’ [Daniel’s drawing]

‘It was good, I liked it.’ [Austin]

‘Good. I liked the Ghost of Christmas Present bit.’ [Hamdan]

      ‘Good. I liked Scrooge.’ [Bartosz]

‘It was funny, my favourite bit was when he was dressing up as Scrooge, I liked the hat.’ [Lilly]

‘I got a chocolate coin for my signing.’ [Mahdi]

    • Pathway 1 Winter Celebration and Craft Afternoon

      Published 14/12/23

Pathway 1pupils enjoyed hosting their parents, carers and families to view their Winter Celebration Performances on Diwali, Hanukkah and Christmas. It was so lovely seeing how proud each pupil was of their performance, and they were so excited to share this with their loved ones. Each class put tremendous effort in to ensure they had learnt their lines and perfected their dances. Many classes made sure to include Signalong, which is always great to see everyone getting involved. Parents, carers and families then joined in for some Winter Celebration crafts to finish off the afternoon.

Thank you to all who attended. It is so amazing to see the pupils’ faces light up when they see their loved ones join them at school. We look forward to inviting you all back next term for some Eid Celebrations.

It was an absolute pleasure and privilege to see so many of you, with your child, at last night's Celebration of Achievement Evening. Thank you to our Governors for attending and the Worshipful the Mayor of Hillingdon, Cllr Shehryar Ahmad-Wallana for being our guest of honour and presenting pupils with their certificate packs.

For those of you with children in Years 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 who haven't yet attended one of these evenings, this is our annual event where we present pupils with their externally accredited achievements. Last night this included: Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh Awards; School special certificates; AQA unit awards, Entry level; Signalong; Functional skills and GCSE.

Our two Head Pupils, Lazaro and Poppy, represented the school with confidence and maturity far beyond their years. Their vote of thanks, delivered to a packed hall of over 200 people was done clearly and from the heart. Many thanks and congratulations to both of you.

I look forward to welcoming people to their first, second, third, fourth or even fifth Celebration Evening next year!

      Kind regards

      Mrs J Rigby
