Class AP went on a trip to Pizza Hut on Tuesday, 16 July.
Students had the opportunity to practice their independence by picking and ordering food. They also continued to develop their social skills such as communication and active listening as they had to interact not only with their teachers and classmates, but also with staff at Pizza Hut. All pupils showed excellent behaviour and have had loads of fun!

The 6th form Drama class performed their own script this week.
They created a sequel to the movie 'Stardust' and developed their characters' storylines whilst working on their voice work. The cast ensured they remembered their own lines and worked well as part of a team.
Great work!

On Tuesday 16 July, Class IM went to Whipsnade zoo. All the pupils had a fantastic time trying to spot different animals around the zoo. They liked the giraffes, the elephants and penguins the most. They enjoyed having their snack and lunch at the zoo, but complained about the walk! On the way back to school everyone enjoyed having a little nap, except the driver!

Twenty-two previous students returned to Meadow to take part in sports activities, to catch up and share how they are all doing.
We all thoroughly enjoyed the morning. Thank you to Mr Anstee for organising the events and to Mrs Porter for the lovely refreshments.
Some of our Boomerangers shared how they had been getting on. Some shared how they now have children, are working part-time in a gym, sports coaching, at Brunel University and at the Sheraton Hotel.
Some shared how they are enjoying Project Search, college courses and volunteering at local churches.
Two students also shared the great news that they have gained their drivers' licences! One previous student had gained his SIA licence too.
We are super proud of all our previous students' achievements. Keep up the good work.
We look forward to our next Boomerang meet in October 24.
Thank you
Ms Carter
On Thursday 4th July and Friday 5th July, Class JR undertook their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Expedition. The students (and some very brave members of staff) spent 2 days rowing various types of craft on the water at Rickmansworth Aquadrome under the guidance of some excellent instructors. They also spent a night camping in school, having a BBQ for dinner, enjoying burgers, sausages and pizza.
What the students had to say:
Hamdan “thank you to Miss Bonnar for the trip, it was cool!”
Daniel “I liked rowing the boat.”
Austin “I liked the KataKanu, I liked rowing with my friends.”
Bartosz “I liked the water, I liked splashing.”
Lilly “I liked standing on the paddle board.”
Zane “I liked paddling fast.”
Liam “I liked seeing the wildlife and holding a dragonfly!”
This award shows that Meadow High School is offering a range of opportunities for students to participate in physical activities (through lessons, trips, competitions and extra curricular activities).
A special thank you to; the PE staff, staff on duty, staff running/ supporting clubs and, of course, the students!

Meadow High School held a Mock General Election on Thursday 4th July.
Classes were invited to come and make their vote. They have been learning about the different Political parties and what a General Election is during their PSHCE Lessons. Pupils enjoyed putting their vote into the Ballot box and showed good understanding of making a choice.
Votes will be counted, and the results announced on Friday morning!
Thank you to everyone who had their say!
