Two new stories are available on our Youtube channel today.

    .

    Dear England Lessons in Leadership
    by Gareth Southgate

    read by Mr. Cunningham

This is a great book to explore whether you are an football fan or not. I can’t explain better than Gareth,  ‘Many of us find ourselves called upon to be leaders at some point in our lives. Whatever meaning leadership has for you, I hope the stories I tell in these pages may resonate with your own experiences, and may even offer you some guidance.'  Have a listen to Mr. Cunningham reading and see what you learn.

    The Gruffalo
    by Julia Donaldson
    read by Mrs. Monaghan

This is another one of our favourite stories here in school – we have been told that we needed to add it to our YouTube channel!  "A mouse took a stroll through the deep dark wood. A fox saw the mouse and the mouse looked good." Walk further into the deep dark wood, and discover what happens when the quick-thinking mouse comes face to face with an owl, a snake and a hungry gruffalo ...  Mrs. Monaghan will tell you all about it!

  • Meadow Maths Fair

    Published 12/02/26

Last week's Maths Week and 'Meadow Maths Fair' were a great success. Students and staff produced fantastic, creative maths-themed stalls, each offering something unique. It was wonderful to see the whole school come together, supporting one another and working collaboratively to complete each challenge.

Here is what some of the pupils had to say about the day:

"Darts was a really good stall, I wish we could play it more!"

"The escape rooms were amazing! We all worked as a class to figure them out!"

"People said they really enjoyed our stall at Axe throwing, we had so many people wanting to come back to try again!"

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the event such an enjoyable and memorable experience.

    Pathway 2 Trip - Year 7 and Year 10

Year 7 and year 10 went on a trip to St. John the Baptist Church in Hillingdon, where they learnt all about the features of a church. Both year groups asked and answered lots of interesting questions and enjoyed seeing a historical church for themselves to consolidate their learning.

  • Pathway 1 - KS3 Trip

    Published 12/02/26

On Monday 9th February Key Stage 3 Pathway 1 pupils had an exciting trip to The Lookout Discovery Centre in Bracknell. All pupils behaved in such a mature manner and everyone had an amazing time. Pupils have been learning about the five senses in their Theme lessons and this trip allowed them to continue their learning outside the classroom with the wide variety of activities available at the centre.

Well done to all staff and pupils for making this trip a huge success!

  • KS4 Pathway 1 - Science: Staying Healthy

    Published 29/01/26

In Science, KS4 pupils in Pathway 1 have been exploring what it means to live a healthy lifestyle. They have taken part in a wide range of engaging activities that support both physical and mental wellbeing.

Pupils were especially proud to make their own healthy sandwiches, learning first-hand about the importance of a balanced diet and making positive food choices. They approached this with enthusiasm and independence, and we are incredibly proud of their efforts.

You can support this learning at home by encouraging your child to eat a balanced diet, choose healthy snacks, drink plenty of water, and take part in regular physical activity such as walking, swimming, or playing outdoors. These small daily habits make a big difference to lifelong health and wellbeing.

  • Meadow High School Library:Welcoming in the New Year in Style!

    Published 22/01/26

After the magical cosiness of the Christmas season in our library, we wanted to focus on welcoming the New Year in style.  The post box for letters to Father Christmas has been put away for now and is replaced with a box to post wishes for 2026.  We will be creating a display of these to help us reflect positively on the possibilities of the year ahead.

This year we are also exploring other cultures and beliefs by decorating the library to celebrate the Chinese New Year [17.02.26 – 03.04.26].  Our students are really enjoying finding out all about this festival as well as the animal year they were born into.  This year it is the Year of the Horse, and for the first time in 60 years, it’s a Fire Horse year - the last one was in 1966, maybe a positive sign for the World Cup this year!
