Dear Parents and Carers
Thanks to all of you who attended the Meet The Tutor Evening last week. The attendance was over 80%, and I am sure there were some very productive conversations about how we can work with you for the benefit of your children. Working with you will be one of my key priorities as we move forward.
It has been another busy week at Meadow High School. Last Monday I had the pleasure of visiting the new site at Northwood Road. Work is progressing at pace and the construction team are already pouring the foundations and preparing for the delivery of the steel frame. I have also seen the plans for the first time, and I am very excited about the building that our students and staff will move into when it is completed. I was very reassured by the project and site managers on site, and I am confident we will see this project continue to evolve.

A key area we are working hard on is student attendance. Attendance above 95% is vital in ensuring your child succeeds at school and benefits from everything Meadow has to offer in and out of the classroom. Mrs Kelleher has sent a letter home reminding parents of the school processes around attendance and why attendance is so vital. For example, 90% attendance means a student is missing a day of school per fortnight or 20 days in a school year. 80% equates to a day per week or 40 days in a year. Please work with us to ensure your child is in every day on time and, if there are reasons for genuine absence, please communicate with us.
This half-term I am working hard to gather the views of all stakeholders about the strengths of our school and the areas in which we can develop further. Parents are an important partner in this process, and I am very keen to hear what you have to say about our school. Please can I encourage you to complete the survey below so that we have your opinions. I will also be scheduling three dates and times for you to meet me in person.
The survey has also been emailed to all parents directly.
This week we have also celebrated Jeans for Genes day to raise awareness of genetic illnesses and the impact they have on the individual and their wider families. A link to the relevant website is below in case of interest.

I wish you all an enjoyable weekend and week ahead. If you are interested, I am also videoing some weekly updates and placing them on the Latest News area of the school website. Feel free to browse them.
Kind regards
Mr Cunningham
Headteacher
