Issue 31 - Friday 16 May 2025

Dear Families,

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week. The focus of this year is to create communities that care for people living with mental illness.

Miss Barratt led this week's assembly where she looked at what mental health is, why it is important to look after our mental health and how we can do this.

Center Parcs Residential

The Pathway 1 pupils who went to Center Parcs this week were very lucky with the weather.  What a week!  This year we had several pupils who have not only not attended a school residential before, but have never stayed away from home overnight. We are so proud of these young people who overcame their fears and went on to have lots of fantastic experiences with their friends. Look out for more in next week's bulletin.

Hot Weather

In this hot weather and beautiful sunshine, please remember to send your child in with a reusable water bottle and ensure they have applied sunscreen before coming to school. You may also wish to supply a hat they can wear outside at break times. We have seen a few sunburnt noses and foreheads recently!

Very best wishes to you all for a happy and healthy weekend.

Mrs J Rigby
Headteacher

Class KS VE Day Assembly

KS class were asked to do an assembly on VE Day. We made props and decorations and dressed as pilots. We listened to the loud sirens and danced to celebrate the end of the war in Europe 80 years ago.

Afterwards KS class had a small street party to celebrate.

Well done to all from Mrs Stroud

Year 11 - Greenford Mail Centre visit on 13/05/2025

Year 11 students visited Greenford Mail Centre as part of a career visit to a local employer. During the visit, students and staff toured the site (production floor and warehouse) and saw various sorting machines on the production floor, such as parcels, letters and large letters. Students had the opportunity to meet with people working in different areas (such as engineers, machine operators, drivers and parcel sorters) who explained about their job roles and experiences.

Students were keen to complete the fact sheet about Royal Mail during the tour of the site. Students were excited to see the Royal Mail lorry and enjoyed sitting in it. Students posted a letter to themselves. We all enjoyed the lovely lunch and gifts provided by the Royal Mail staff. It was great to visit the mail centre. Many thanks to staff at MHS and Royal Mail who supported this visit.
