Issue 10 - Friday 15 November 2024

Dear Families

This week our Scouts and Explorers held a Ceremony of Remembrance.  Three Leaders, fourteen Scouts, and fourteen Explorer Scouts formed up very smartly on parade, lowered the flag in respect and observed the 2 minutes' silence whilst standing at 'Alert'.  The 'maroons' that were fired on Coney Green could be clearly heard and added an additional element to the ceremony.

Assembly

In the assembly this week we announced our School Council representatives. Representatives are voted for by their class team and will then liaise with their classmates to formulate items to be discussed at council meetings which are held twice a term. Congratulations to all new representatives, I'm sure you will be excellent role models to all pupils.

Cold Weather

The forecast is currently showing much colder weather coming in from this weekend. Please ensure your child has a warm coat, hat and gloves so they can continue to enjoy some fresh air and exercise at break times. Those without sufficient outdoor clothing will remain inside on cold days.

Please note, all pupils have the option of going to our school library during break times, and this includes if they feel it is too cold for them on any particular day.

Very best wishes.

Mrs J Rigby
Headteacher

Odd Socks Day

On Tuesday 12th November our school community participated in Odd Socks Day as part of
Anti Bullying Week. We delivered a message of individuality, acceptance and tolerance, which what being an odd sock is all about!

Everybody is different
and that is good.
