Dear Parents and Carers
We are officially open!!! After a lengthy journey this week, we finally welcomed students onto our new Northwood Road Campus. It was great to welcome all the students back and to see the joy on their faces as they caught up with their friends and teachers in their new surroundings. A lot of this week has been about familiarisation and using the environment itself as a tool to support learning as we all find our feet. The constructors will remain on site for three further weeks, completing snagging and finishing the works in some of the internal and external spaces. I would like to thank all parents for their patience as we moved towards this point. It has not always been simple and straight forward but nothing worth doing is. The reaction of our school community this week has shown it has been worth the wait.

Whilst Northwood Road Campus have been settling in, learning has continued at a pace on Royal Lane Campus.
Last week, we had a ballet company in school delivering a live in-person performance to many students whilst others dialled in to watch it on a live stream. This event provided an important cultural moment for our students.
|
|
Last Friday was also Thank a Teaching Assistant Day. These staff often go unnoticed in any school, but the work they do is invaluable in nurturing and educating our young people. I would like to extend my thanks to them all.
Whilst these events are crucially important for students, the core job of any school is focussed on teaching and learning. This week we welcomed Carolyn Ryder into our school to provide some initial feedback on the curriculum we introduced in September. She looked at some units of work and had a quick tour of the school. Her feedback has been immensely valuable as we refine what we offer in the interests of the students.
Have a great weekend.

Headteacher

Northwood Road Campus News
|
|
Northwood Road Campus is Open !
On Monday 28th September, our much anticipated Northwood Road campus opened for students.
|
|
We have all been enjoying exploring our new building, but especially the wonderful playground and outside spaces. There have been smiles all around, and we will update over the next few weeks with more photos of our wonderful site, as we settle in.
We are proud of how well all the students (and staff!) have coped with moving into the new campus and look forward to many, many years of successful learning ahead.
We are still waiting for the outside works, such as the staff car park, to be completed but will look forward to welcoming you all to see the site soon.
Miss A Willis - Deputy Headteacher - Northwood Road

London Children's Ballet Performance
|
|
We were delighted to welcome the London Children’s Ballet back to Royal Lane on Friday 25th September during our whole-school enrichment time.
Students thoroughly enjoyed the performance, with the choice of watching it live in the hall or via a live stream from their classrooms. This year’s performance told the much-loved story of Anne of Green Gables, bringing the story to life through narrative dance, expressive movement, props, ballet and colourful costume changes.
|
|
Our students were particularly engaged during the interactive section and enjoyed the opportunity to say hello to the dancers and congratulate them during the meet-and-greet session.
The visit supported our curriculum by deepening students’ understanding of artistic expression, rhythm and movement, while providing them with an exciting opportunity to experience live performance.
We were incredibly proud of how respectful, curious and enthusiastic our students were throughout the event.
A big thank you to the London Children’s Ballet for another wonderful performance, and to our parents and families for your continued support.
Miss Kalia
Director of Learning for Performing Arts, PE and Science
