Jack Petchey Winner !

Paige won the Jack Petchey award for January!

Paige won because she has been stepping out of her comfort zone and trying new things by joining various clubs: Shining Stars, Production Club and Fitness Club.  In Performing Arts clubs she is a wonderful example of good behaviour to younger students and has a fantastic positive attitude.   Well Done Paige!

Paige chose to spend £250 towards costumes and props for the summer show!

Dear Parents/ Carers

I would like to thank all parents/carers who completed the attendance questionnaire recently. I am pleased to confirm that the ballot draw for the two amazing prizes -

"£60 Intu Gift Voucher" and "Marriott Stay for two with breakfast" will take place during our Friday assembly (5th April 2019).  The two lucky winners will be notified by a phone call!

Good luck to everyone and please help us encourage the best attendance we can so that we can "achieve together"

Residential Trip to Devon 2019

Last week, 32 students spent the week on the annual residential trip to the Calvert Trust Exmoor in Devon. The students took part and faced their fears in activities such as canoeing, abseiling, zipwire, horse riding, biking, archery and rock climbing and that was just the daytime!! In the evening students took part in a night walk, swimming, film night, a visit from Exmoor Zoo and everyone’s favourite - the disco!

Not only did students get to have a great time participating in these activities, but it helped that the weather was lovely and sunny all week and the food was amazing!! It was fantastic for the Meadow High School staff to see our students making new friends and trying their hardest in all activities.

But most enjoyable was hearing the great feedback from the students, listed below are some quotes from a few
students:

Sebastian (DH) – “My highlight of the week was rock climbing, I was scared at the beginning, but overcome my fear!’’

Poppy (9LO) – “I really enjoyed the bikes and watching the staff  (Miss Bhopal) get stuck at the bottom of the hill!”

Paige (11ZK) – “I really liked the team I was in and the horse riding was my favourite activity.”

Tillie (DL) - “I really liked the canoe and splashing Mr Morgan!”

Leeban (DH) – “I loved the canoe and getting everyone soaking wet! I was laughing non-stop. I have never had a holiday like Devon ever before!”

Thematic KS3 and KS4 have had two lovely days at Odds Farm Park.  Lovely weather and great behaviour from all meant a great day out.   Miss Bonnar
