Collective 31 & Meadow High School -Art & Music Exhibition Workshop - June 2017

We welcome you to Collective 31 and Meadow High school's combined Art and Music Exhibition Workshop June 29th at Ickenham Village Hall from 10:00 am to 3:30pm.

On Friday the 21st Of April we were thrilled to welcome into school Collective 31 to work with our Year 10 Music students and Sixth Form Art students in a groundbreaking initiative aimed at developing pupils’ imagination, therapeutic expression and cross-curricular understanding. Collective 31 is a music and arts organisation that put on a range of artistic events, from music concerts to art exhibitions, around the UK. With a focus on new work, Collective 31 aims to make contemporary art accessible to everyone through unique, original events.

During the workshop the Year 10 music students explored the contemporary side of music through improvisation. They played instruments with experimental techniques and produced avant-garde pieces with Collective 31's paintings as a stimulus. Whereas the Sixth Form Art students were fortunate enough to enjoy the experience of listening to Collective 31 play a range of classical, live music on the oboe to inspire their artwork. The workshops were a huge success and pupils made work that was very emotive.

Collective 31 facilitate educational outreach projects in schools and community groups, with the aim of educating and inspiring people with contemporary art.
