Homework

Dear Parents / Carers

This is a reminder that the only set homework from Meadow High School is the Reading
Programme.  We obviously try to balance pupils’ needs with any homework requests.

Can I politely remind you that, should you require a suitable level of homework, this needs to be discussed with your child’s form tutor in the first instance.

Kind regards— Mr. R. Macdonald—Head Teacher

Prescribed Antibiotics or Medicines

We are only allowed to give prescribed
medications in school if they are needed FOUR times a day.  We cannot give them if they are prescribed three times a day. Please ensure any medication sent into school are clearly labelled with the child’s name and dosage.
Thank you—Welfare

Lost Headphones

A pupil has lost his headphones. Can we appeal to parents to check the headphones their child has at home, as these are important equipment to this particular pupil  The lost set are black, noise-cancelling ear defenders.  If found, please return to Reception or Miss Willis. Thanks

Travel Training—Ealing Mencap

We have been informed that Ealing Mencap will no longer be funded by London Borough of Hillingdon to provide Travel Training to our pupils from March 2018.   Due to this, they will not be taking any more referrals.  We are obviously very sad about this as many of our pupils have benefited from this initiative, which helps pupils to travel independently in the community.  We will keep you updated

Shoeboxes

Thank you for the wonderful response to our Shoebox Appeal.  Shoeboxes or donations should be brought into school by 24/11/2017 latest.

FESTIVALS & CULTURAL WEEK —NEXT WEEK—13-17 NOVEMBER 2017

I am sure you are aware that, next week, the Humanities Faculty are running a week of fun and activities to celebrate the theme of Cultures and Festivals around the World.   There will be many activities going on around school—research, themed lessons and activities, Meadow Museum, Culture Club lunchtime talks by staff and parents, Culture Fest Evening on Thursday 16th, and a Non Uniform Day on Friday.  For the Non Uniform Day on Friday 17th, pupils are encouraged to come to school dressed in clothes from around the world.  This coincides with Children In Need Day, but this year the School Council have decided to donate all money raised to a struggling local charity, Mind Hillingdon.   The Menu for School Lunches next week has been themed as well (Menu overleaf).   If you and your family are planning to come to the Culture Fest Evening on Thursday 16 November (4.30-6.30pm) please could you complete and return the Reply Slip
below, so we can have an idea of numbers.   Miss Bhopal, Faculty Head of Humanities
