Issue 22 - 2 March 2018

Severe Weather
During the severe weather this week, we have worked hard to ensure the school is safe for both pupils and staff.  We know many pupils set out early for school and we try our best to inform parents as early as possible whether or not the school is open.

On the morning of Wednesday 28th a lot of parents experienced difficulties accessing the website early in the morning, whilst trying to check whether the school was open or not.  Our website provider has confirmed there was a problem with their server coping with the “huge spike in visits experienced between 6.30 and 7.30 that morning”.  Our website provider is working hard to prevent this happening again.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused.  Please do continue to monitor the school website for severe weather updates.

During these very cold conditions please ensure your child comes to school with a warm coat, gloves and hat and sturdy footwear.

THIS WEEK—World Book Day—Week of Teamwork Themed Activities

A huge thank you to all the staff and students for getting involved in the
activities this week.   It has been very good to see pupils trying activities and working together in team challenges.

We hope to bring you a more detailed write up of events and photos in next week’s  Bulletin and on the website.

On Friday, each pupil will be bringing home a World Book Day Book Token.  Just a reminder that these can be used against purchases in the Scholastic Book Club
catalogue leaflet that came home recently.  There are some excellent bargains to be had.  The deadline for orders is Friday 9 March.

Bus Day

On 28th February, 25 pupils from different year groups went out on a "Bus Day" to learn more about being an independent traveller.

We witnessed different scenarios on the bus and met local police, ticket inspectors and learnt how to manage different situations.

A big thank you to Ealing Mencap, TFL and the Police for such a great morning.

The children described it as "really fun and a good morning out."

Shoebox Appeal Reminder

We are still collecting for our Shoebox Appeal! If you have any small toys, stationary or gifts that you could donate for the appeal, it would be really appreciated. We are also collecting empty shoeboxes to fill. Many thanks for your support so far.
