Pupils and Staff have been very busy this week settling into their new timetables and lessons.
After school clubs will be starting up again soon. There will be letters coming home inviting your child to join various clubs. If your child wants to participate in a club please return the reply slip on the letter. Places are limited and you will be notified in writing if your child gets a place on a club. Please note that pupils must be collected promptly after club (usually 4.15 or 4.30).
There are also various lunchtime clubs available. A full list of clubs available this term will be on the website soon. Clubs are an excellent way for your child to take part in enrichment activities and gain social, team-working and independence skills. It is a chance for them to enjoy taking part in something they have chosen to do.
Shining Stars Club starts again on Wednesday 27 September, 3.15-4.15. This was a very successful and popular club last year. The Music Department will be running an
Inclusive Choir and Dance Club will join together to make a “Glee Club” called Shining Stars. It is hoped that this club will encourage pupils to develop their vocal skills, confidence and teamwork and will give opportunities leading to the School’s Annual Performing Arts Concert.
Letters came home during the week with reply slips, which you need to complete and return if your child is interested in this club.
Mr Vincent, Faculty Head of PE, has set up a number of sporting clubs this year. For the Autumn Term there will be Football on Mondays and Tag Rugby on Wednesdays. Options will change in the Spring Term. Letters and reply slips have been sent home.
The School Council are organising a Non-Uniform Charity Day to raise money for two charities on Friday 22 September (next Friday). Pupils can either dress in their Jeans or dress up as an animal (or both if they like). Please send in £1.00 per child donation. We will split the proceeds 50/50. The charities are:
Jeans for Genes Wear you jeans to help raise money to provide grants to fund projects and services that benefit children affected by genetic disorders.
Wear it Wild Stand out from the herd in animal-inspired fancy dress and help raise money to protect endangered wildlife around the world
Petition for a Safe Crossing on Royal Lane You may remember back in the Summer that we had an e-petition on the Hillingdon Council website asking for a safe zebra crossing to be put outside the school on Royal Lane. The petition has now closed and we are delighted that 117 people signed it. The petition has now gone to a Panel for a decision. We have everything crossed for our crossing and hope to hear very soon that our request has been successful. We will keep you updated…...
