Goodbye Message from Mrs Rigby

Message from Mrs Rigby

Dear Families,

It is with a very mixed bag of emotions that today, after 28 years at the school, I have wished everyone in the community a fond farewell.

During my time here I have:

  • been the music lead
  • year 7 lead
  • key stage 3 lead
  • data and assessment lead
  • deputy headteacher
  • and for the last 8 years, headteacher.
  • I have planned 3 multi million pound buildings and seen two of them completed!
  • lead the school through a worldwide pandemic.

I look back now with a real sense of satisfaction at all of these areas. However, my proudest achievement is seeing the young people that we have supported blossoming into confident, happy, integrated members of society.

I am so pleased to be able to confidently hand over the school to Mr Cunningham who will carry on the leadership legacy and I look forward with great anticipation to hearing about the next chapter of Meadow High School.

In the slightly adapted words of Glinda from Wicked:

I've heard it said that people come into our lives for a reason,
bringing something we must learn.

And we are led, to those who help us most to grow,
if we let them, and we help them in return.

Well I do know that I believe that's true,
and I know I'm who I am today because I knew you!

My very best wishes to you all.

I can honestly say that Meadow will be a handprint on my heart for the rest of my life.

Mrs J Rigby
Head Teacher
